Persona 4 Chapter 12 Excitement!

Wow it’s been a crazy week, what with all the Carnival Phantasm madness coming out, a lot of purty mangas getting translated, which includes chapters 11 and 12 of the Persona 4! It’s been quite some time since I last read a chapter of P4 since it has a sporadic release schedule and all that jazz. But these 2 chapters reminded me why I fell in love with this series in the first place.

Brojima gives Nanako a Junes shirt, with a platypus….duck…thing. NANAKO LOVES IT!

Mostly it was just chapter 12 that got me really fired up for obvious reasons (I love seeing the family scenes in manga form and I really liked the ending to it). Since they were just coming off of the first dungeon in the story everything was very laid back, aside from the usual Dojima issues and yadayada, so it was a very nice breath of fresh air from the chapters that were heavy on combat (even though those are still great too). Maybe I’m just a sucker for Nanako chapters, who knows. I also really liked the way this chapter looked, a lot of the scenery and angles they used fit very well with the scenes and they were just nice to look at.

Ah yes, the only reason why I’m even talking about this chapter right now. NAOTO SHIROGANE IS FINALLY INTRODUCED IN THIS MANGA @#$#!%@%^%%!! Phew. Now if you haven’t already guessed it, this is by far the best thing that has happened to me the entire week, seriously. Totally didn’t see it coming, and I’m glad I didn’t cuz I screamed at the top of my lungs when I saw this page and then I punched a few rocks and went on a rampage of awesome. And as soon as the PV for Naoto comes out, you probably won’t ever hear from me again. But yeah, EXCITEMENT!

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai PV

Can’t wait to see Leysis Vi Felicity Sumeragi in animation!

Promo video for the anime adaptation of CubexCursedxCurious. Started reading the manga awhile ago with King, ’twas pretty cool so I’m excited for this one.

Independent Anime “Red Thread”

Just thought I’d share this, really helped me kill an easy 4 minutes and provided a simple story for an extremely well animated short. Akai Ito

Princess Tutu Specials Review?

So it’s been awhile since I’ve seen the anime Princess Tutu with Gabe and I thought it was a good time to finally bring up those “Special” episodes I’ve been pushing off to the side for so long. When we first started watching this series I thought of it as more of a joke than anything else, the title and premise of the show felt too girlish and ridiculous for me to take seriously. As it went on though, I started to fall in love with it more and more and now it’s one of my favorite animes out there, so you can imagine my delight when I found out about the specials. I was a little hesitant on watching them though. Hearing that they were recaps made me want to wait even longer to give them a looksie, only now am I slightly regretting it. Read more of this post

Some Swag From Sakura-con

So another year of Sakuracon has ended, and this time I actually got my lazy butt out of my house long enough to attend it!……For one day……But that’s still great! I decided to attend on the last day since I thought there would be better deals and other really good excuses for me to pass on the first 2 days. But I deeply regret not being able to spend the previous 2 days at the wonderful WSCC as well. Sure I spent most of my time today waltzing around because I blew all my money on the FLCL bluray and Evangelion Manga among various other things, but I rather enjoyed walking around waiting for the next event to take place in the big Bandai Entertainment section of the exhibition hall.

Persona 4 Anime Confirmed!

Yes it’s true! About a day or 2 ago, Aniplex released a teaser site for a supposed “Persona 4 Animation” over at the moment they’re showing the PV for the show so go check it out!) and earlier today they confirmed it and an official site has been made along with a list of the cast and crew at

The director is listed as Seiji Kishi who is most notably the director of Angel Beats!, Seto no Hanayome, and Tentai Senshi Sunred, and with the studio AIC A.S.T.A.(Bamboo Blade,Sora no Otoshimono) and apparently changing the main character’s name to Yu Narukami this is starting to sound even more awesome than I originally thought.

The music is being done by Shoji Meguro who did the music for both P3 and P4.

And the casting is as followed:
Yu Narukami – Daisuke Namikawa
Yosuke Hanamura – Showtaro Morikubo
Chie Satonaka – Yui Horie
Yukiko Amagi – Ami Koshimizu

Hope everyone’s got their glasses ready!

Still waiting on that Naoto……………..Still waiting…

Update: In case you can’t get the site to load, someone was kinda enough to upload the PV on youtube.

A Channel First Impressions!

Alright, finally get to knock this one off the board. Probably not surprising at all that this is one of those animes I’ve been highly anticipating because I’m somewhat a fan of the manga. A Channel is a comedic anime about a group of 4 girls, Nagi, Run, Yuuko and Tooru, and their life in high school. Run is the energetic and popular girl at school who is always in the middle of a crowd of people, while Tooru is more of a distant person and only really shows interest when it comes to Run, she is also a year younger than the other three and likes to carry a metal bat around with her. Yuuko is kind of timid and always gets into suggestive situations with Run which is why Tooru doesn’t really like her. And Nagi is just Nagi… pretty much the level-headed character so far.

Since the manga is a 4-koma, I didn’t really know what to expect from the anime, but I thought they handled it very nicely. The first episode deals with a few short pieces from the beginning of the manga that flowed together quite nicely and made the episode, overall, flow really well. I wasn’t expecting to laugh too much during it, but I did and it was great. I really liked seeing everyone in animation, even though it seemed like the studio might have taken a risk with how they use CG to animate the characters/backgrounds in a few scenes, but I thought it looked cool so I can’t really complain.

I remember being really excited when I heard Run and Tooru were being voiced by Kaori Fukuhara(Tsukasa from Lucky Star) and Aoi Yuuki(Victorique from Gosick) and they did not disappoint. Well, at first I might have been a little skeptical, but when I heard them I thought they fit really well and had no complaints so now I’m even happier >.<!– The music seemed very laid-back and up-beat at times which definitely fit the mood, but I would have liked to hear a little more variety in the songs. I guess it’s better than having Tooru swinging a bat around to heavy metal or something(that sounds awesome) but anyway I’m getting off topic. All in all I really liked the music but I’m hoping for a little more variety in the following episodes.

Overall though, I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I still think Nichijou had the better first episode, but it’s kinda hard to one-up KyoAni so I don’t hold anything against them. I just hope the anime doesn’t slow down in the middle since they have a lot of content to work with, but I am worried that the manga is still not even 20 chapters in and as of now the anime is kind of up in the air for how long it’s going to be. But I’ll just wait and see and I hope for the best for future episodes!
