Music Video Monday #40: Princess Jellyfish Edition

This week we have ‘Koro Dake no Hanashi’ by popular band, Chatmonchy, or better known as the OP to Kuragehime. Kuragehime was certainly a surprisingly interesting show of last fall, coming along with music from Chatmonchy and Sambomaster. It was a nice combination of comedy and drama, pressed into a short one core show. A bit of a shame that it’s rarely talked about nowadays, but nevertheless positively praised as one of the best comedies of last year. Brains Base, don’t stop bein’ awesome.

Anime Movie Friday #10: The Taking Without Asking Edition

I apologize for not putting up a post for episode 9 of Anime Movie Friday. I went on vacation last week and didn’t have time to put up a post before I left. But I’m here now so lets get on with what we are watching next Friday for episode 10. We will be watching:

Karigurashi no Arrietty

One of the latest movies done by Studio Ghibli. I’ve heard a lot of good things from Vensito and around the web about this movie so I am really looking forward to watching this movie. That and I need to watch more Studio Ghibli movies in general. So this is what we are going to be watching and reviewing this coming Friday. So if anyone is interested in being on the show and watching Karigurashi no Arrietty, either leave a comment here or message one of us on Skype.

And on a side note, for anyone who listened to episode 8 of AMF, you might have noticed a lot of tangents going on. I feel like this may be the feel of future AMF shows. We really enjoyed ourselves kinda goofing around and also reviewing the movie at the same time. So yeah, just letting any of you reading this know that the AMF show will have more of a laid back feel to it than the regular show. Also, I would like to apologize now and in the future for any one offended by what we say and might say on AMF. We are just a bunch of dumbass otaku’s talking about anime. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anime Movie Friday #8: The Android Cafe Edition + a small update

Update part first. The Midyear special is in the process of being edited by Gabe so keep a lookout for that sometime this week. As for the AMF shows, episode 7 for The Girl Who Leapt Through time was recorded last night. However, I have been extremely busy lately and have not been able to do the times for the Princess Mononoke show. I will be doing the times tomorrow night for both episode 6 and episode 7 so expect to see those three podcasts out this week. Sorry for the delay. Its been a rather busy couple weeks for us here at Anime Afterlife.

Now lets get down to business. Anime Movie Friday episode 8 will be recorded this Friday. The movie for episode 8 will be:

Eve no Jikan

A majority of us on episode 7 of AMF wanted to watch this film and from what I read it seems to be an interesting premise and also seems to be pretty popular and enjoyed so I am definitely looking forward to watching this movie. So if anyone is interested in being on episode 8 of Anime Movie Friday and watching Eve no Jikan, contact either Dave or I on Skype or leave a comment.

I came.

I just heard earlier today that Shakugan no Shana Season 3 is officially due this fall! I’m very excited for the season for many reasons. The second season left off at a big cliffhanger, and I’m well eager to see what will happen next. I’m always glad to see Rie Kugumiya in one of her better roles, rather than say… some of the ones (Gintama aside), that she’s done recently. I’m not the biggest fan of Shana, but I do find it to be a pretty entertaining and well done series. I’d probably put it on the same plateau as the first season of Index. Anyhow, I’m glad a lot of great shows are debuting this fall. Persona 4 anime, Mirai Nikki anime, and Shana as well. Just maybe the fall season will outdo the spring. We shall wait and see.

Oh yeah, the new layout. I assume Gabe’s the one fucking with the setttings. Not sure how I feel about it myself though.
